So many of the critical moments of sport are built on quality movement. As a result, speed and agility are highly valued commodities in an athlete and training them has become a cornerstone of physical development programs in many sports. Yet how well does the traditional approach actually help athletes perform the specific tasks of their sport. Ironically, it could be that many of these approaches to measuring and training speed and agility, are actually sending us in a wrong direction. To rectify this situation, we need to change the paradigm and get to a place where the focus is not on speed and agility as generic capacities but as applied tools to successfully navigate the challenges of the sport itself. The Gamespeed system is this approach and it revolutionizes the way we perceive and train speed and agility. By reverse engineering the application of speed and agility the Gamespeed system ensures contextual relevance, and through a latticework of unique approaches ensures the development of Gamespeed fitness that allows individuals to optimize their performance. It is the future of speed and agility development
Workshop Objectives:
This highly interactive and practical one-day workshop is the ideal introduction to Gamespeed, allowing participants to integrate the fundamentals of the Gamespeed system into their training. It outlines why a Gamespeed approach is necessary, the key components of Gamespeed and how Gamespeed can be reverse engineered into underpinning target movements. It also provides extensive practical instruction on how these movements can be developed and progressed to allow true Gamespeed to emerge.
Specific Learning Outcomes:
At the end of the workshop, attendees will be able to:
• Understand how game requirements dictate Gamespeed expression.
• Evaluate the specific constraints limiting Gamespeed performance
• Understand the principles underpinning various methods of developing Gamespeed
• Reverse engineer the Gamespeed needs of various sporting activities
• Coach development sessions to address the specific needs and constraints of a sport
