Current Concepts in Core Training

Current Concepts in Core Training Most fitness professionals know that “breathing” and “core” are important concepts, but few of us know exactly what we should be doing with our clients and how and where it all fits into program design. This session will focus on helping us understand and incorporate the latest thinking (McGill exercises, PRI, etc.) into our training. Learn how these new ideas can be used as simple exercises for healthy clients or rehab exercises for those with problems. The hands-on section will focus on step-by-step techniques for putting these methods into practice.

Changing Movement: Why Some Correctives Work and Others Don’t

Changing movement isn’t about sets, reps or body parts. It’s about understanding why movement is broken in the first place as well as the stimulus that it needs to heal itself. Often, we make the paths to those changes more complex than they need to be, resulting in inefficient, ineffective programs that are nearly impossible to explain to clients. In this session, Gray will discuss the plasticity of the neurological system, its feedback and how we can use its desired sequence of actions to quickly change movement. Whether your focus is on health and wellness or performance development, this talk will help you identify the best ways to convert what you learn from screening into real results that will impress you and your client.

"But I'm Doing Everything Right!” How to Achieve Real Results with Your Clients in The Other 23 Hours of the Day

When it comes to fat loss, most people think of only two variables: DIET and EXERCISE. As fitness professionals, we can only control ONE of those and then only for the one hour we spend with them in the gym. We know that calories matter, but sometimes hormones matter more. What happens when someone's metabolic makeup is greatly affected by overtraining, undereating, and hormonal changes? Ali will go over how to tackle everything that goes into the other 23 hours of someone's day that greatly affect not only their fat loss efforts, but their overall quality of life.

This lecture will review some of the more important factors to take into consideration, from: some base assessments and intervention techniques to program design and professional strategies. Slowing Down to Get Ahead

Clients and coaches alike are being spread too thin in order to accommodate life’s ever-growing to-do list. Doing things faster, getting less recovery, and sacrificing our boundaries have become the ill-fated solution. All the exercise, myofascial release, core work, joint-ROM and breathing techniques do not mean a thing if your clients can not translate it into their lives. Therefore, the true fix is the influence of the coach. Can you make them stop and smell the flowers? Don’t miss Brian’s life-altering workshop wherein you will learn how to access your “inner-Miyagi” and reveal the magic within slowing down for you and your tribe. Enhance your understanding and implementation of timing, tempo and trust. From the newest and most innovative exercise techniques that create community on top of correction to the influential power of authenticity, you will live and lead better knowing you practice the art of Quality not Quantity.

Fascia Training – A Whole-System Approach

Recent studies are showing that our connective tissue network—or “fascia system”—is an integrated, full-body sensory-organ that is far more responsible for storing, releasing, and transferring elastic energy than was previously understood. Data is also showing that the traditional industry focus on training for speed via more strength is often slowing athletes down, inhibiting proprioception, and increasing their risk for injury. In this talk Bill will explore the new evidence-based science of fascia training as explained by top experts in the field. He presents the latest findings along with new training and diagnostic tools for increasing speed, power, and injury resilience using a three-dimensional, whole-system approach.
